Warblers and Bushtits and Woodpeckers

I feel awful for not posting more the last couple of weeks. It has been a weird month. I was laid off (due to budget cuts) at the end of December and I have been scrambling trying to find a job. If I could be a bird blogger and get paid to do it, I would be just fine. But since that's not going to happen, I haven't spent much time birding lately.

So here are a few photos and I hope to post more in the next couple of days. We hope you like them and have a great week!

One of the many Townsend's Warblers we get on a daily basis.

They are such fun to watch.

A photo of our BirdCam taking pics of a Downy Woodpecker.

Bushtits have been swamping the yard lately. The ones with the light-colored eyes are the females.

We always enjoy their visits. You can't help but smile when you hear the little, high-pitched "peep, peeps" from a flock.

was just outside checking to see if the fresh nectar was agreeable with anna's and was delighted to hear the bushtits coming. i was about a foot from the suet feeder, stood still as they flocked to the suet. probably 20-25, will know next time to look at their eyes.

dang it, the camera was inside~

I'm so sorry to hear about the lay-off! I wish you the very best of luck in finding a new job - you will be in my thoughts. On a lighter note, I'm jealous of your warblers in the winter. And the bushtits are so cute! I hope the birdies can bring some brightness to your days.

That warbler is so beautiful! How lucky to have that come to your feeders.

Thanks for the comment on my coast post. You should definitely try the ponds for a kite!
I'm sorry about the layoff, too. I wish you could get paid for being a bird blogger!

Sorry to hear about the layoff. Lovely pictures. I too have so many bushtits at our suet feeder. I think they are adorably social.

So sorry to hear about your job loss. Wouldn't it be great if we could be paid for birding? That would be a dream job. I hope you find something soon. In the meantime, enjoy your birds. I always like to check in and see what you've seen.

Those pics are great! I'm sorry about the lay-off, my hubby was laid off the day before Christmas Eve...he's been looking ever since. They downsized, went from 2 shifts to 1. My hubby was 1 of 4 let go. Best of luck to you. I hope for better days for us all.
