Just a few minutes ago, we had a Chipping Sparrow come into the yard! It's the first time this year that we have seen this little guy. We usually see him once or twice a year for a single day, then he's gone again. He let us get pretty close this year. Thanks little guy!

I just had my first chipper show up for the year yesterday. They usually stick around here through the summer till early fall.
I not sure that I have seen that sparrow around here...lovely shot....I would be afraid to put out that amount of what looks like sunflower seeds as the Stellar Jay comes and eats them all....
Hooray for your little Chipper. We've had them in my part of Ohio for almost a month now. They seem more prevalent at the feeders this year than they have in years' past, but that might just be my imagination. Aren't they just the cutest things?!
