Trip to Powell Butte

We took a trip yesterday up to Powell Butte. It was gorgeous! We added a few new species to our year's list and saw some amazing birds! Between Powell Butte in the morning and our backyard in the afternoon, we saw over 40 species. He had such a great time up there. Here are some of yesterday's photos from the trip and our yard. Nice photos! I'm thinking your vireo is in fact a Yellow-rumped Warbler (hopefully still a new bird). I can see yellow on the sides and slight streaking underneath which indicates a winter plumaged yellow-rump. A vireo's bill is thicker than this bird's and its body has no streaking or yellow on it. Also a vireo's wing bars are much more striking. Well,, that's my opinion, anyway, for what it's worth.

I agree that it's a yellow-rumped warbler. A hutton's vireo is very similar to a ruby-crowned kinglet.
